VINCENT GEMIGNANI-MODERN POP PERCUSSION, LP, 1970, FRANCE

Both wonderfully odd and impossibly suave, this French treasure is situated at a unique nexus between tripped out experimental sound sculpture manipulation (think: Lasry/Baschet, Goa Et Francky Bourlier, Om and Gravity Adjusters Expansion Band) and swinging Parisian pop grooviness of the soundtrack/library/space age bachelor pad variety. You all ready for the Barbarella avant garde?

litlgrey-it might have been at one point, but it wasn't up elsewhere any longer as far as I could discern. Of course, it's now has been hoisted elsewhere, given that the pathetic little turd thats been stealing all my posts here and republishing them on wickmusic.com (which contains nothing but content stolen from other blogs) has gotten his grubby little mits on my latest posts.

Wickmusic? Well that's sure one blog I won't be visiting. It'll go on my To-Be-Forgotten list, much like the blog for Houseplant Studios and so on.

Crazy record, crazy. The post describes it well -- avant -garde tracks alternating with Esquivel-esque loungey, kitschy (but groovy) tracks. Hard to believe it's the same artist. oh, and it's great!
